Sugar Cookies

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 4 eggs
Cream sugar and shortening together.

Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Add:

  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. powdered milk
  • 1/4 tsp. lemon extract
Beat until fluffy. Add dry ingredients a little at a time:

  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 5+ c. flour
The dough will be soft. Put the dough on a floured surface and knead in a little more flour until you can roll it out to desired thickness. Cut out! 

Bake in 375 degree oven for 8 min. (time will vary)

Do not let them get too brown.

When cool, frost with favorite frosting.
